Senior Engineer - Energy and Sustainability - AATE

Purpose of the job                                               


The following are indicative roles and responsibilities for the subject position. As a new BU, the Snr. engineer in this position will be responsible for multiple roles. The Snr. Engineer will play a pivotal part in BU growth, eventually taking senior positions and setting up independent BU functions as the BU grows and needs independent teams. Key Responsibilities & Activities:


Pre Sales

  • Proactively engage with customers, suppliers, competitors
  • Routinely attend to seminars, exhibitions for gaining latest knowledge and best practices
  • Prepare and deliver client presentations
  • Attend to all tender related meetings
  • Proactive networking, business development 


Proposals

  • Work with commercials and projects teams to collate all info towards preparing a winning bid (technical and commercial) 
  • Manage end to end the entire tender process (submission, clarifications, visits etc)
  • Create standard and best practices-oriented proposals documents Constantly update proposals standard documents with latest references, certificates etc 
  • Work closely with contacts team to develop the commercial model of the bid with the right procurement inputs 


Planning

  • Setup and drive best planning standards for the BU
  • Deploy best planning tools for efficient project management (both cost and time) and bring on key and detailed project indicators through dashboards such as not limited to EVM, CPI, SPI, curves-trends-projections
  • Preparing detailed schedules (cost and resource loaded) - all levels
  • Prepare detailed issues tracking, material tracking, project deliverables tracking, detailed and regular project reports, detailed and live dashboards 


Procurement

  • Setup and drive all Procurement efforts for the BU
  • Managing end to RFI and RFP process for suppliers & subcontractors 
  • Constantly update vendor master with suppliers & subcontractors
  • Constantly look for new suppliers & subcontractors and onboard them
  • Carry our standard supplier and subcontractor due diligence, evaluation, and performance assessment process 
  • Floating Pretender budgetary quotations RFQ. Prepare post tender supplier and subcontractor comparatives, negotiations, order finalization and PO/contract placement. Post PO placement, expedite for material and service delivery. Manage detailed materials delivery schedule and trackers 
  • Prepare standard and best practices-oriented Procurement documents and ERP driven processes 


Projects

  • Carry out routine project visits for progress validation
  • Send routine DPR, WPR and all other project reports to internal and external stakeholders 
  • Participate in client and management, project progress review meetings


PMO

  • Monitor and control project time and cost (and other parameters) to ensure project health
  • Recommend corrective measures for regaining project controls
  • Give clear and accurate project picture to management 


Other tasks:

  1. Promoting Al Ansari Group Values, Code of Conduct and associated policies
  2. Participating and providing positive contribution to technical, commercial, planning, safety and quality performance of the organization and in accordance with Client, Contractual, regulatory requirements
  3. Periodic visits to Sites & Project locations to discuss operational aspects & issues
  4. Developing deep understanding of the local market; including knowledge of competitors, clients and/or contractors, relative market positions etc
  5. Undertaking any other responsibilities as directed and mutually agreed with the Line Management.
